Community Service Van Program
 
The community service van program enables students to volunteer in the Evanston and Chicagoland communities. There are five vans available to ASG-recognized community service organizations for the exclusive purpose of travelling to and from a community agency to perform service.
How to Use a Van for Community Service
 
1. Defensive Driving Certification

You MUST be certified by the unversity in order to drive a van.

Northwestern University's Department of Risk Management proctors daily driver certification testing. The course is online and takes around 1-1.5 hours to complete.

4. Van Training Days
  • Community Service Van trainings take place Mondays and Wednesdays between 11am - 3pm or Fridays between 9am - 11am. The training is 20 minutes long and does not require an appointment. You can stop by anytime within the designated time frame. If you can not make these times, please email Natalie Furlett at n-furlett@northwestern.edu to set up an alternative appointment.
