ASB is a student-run organization that seeks to educate student volunteers about specific social issues by immersing teams of NU students in diverse communities across the country to engage in service-learning. ASB not only seeks to involve, educate and heighten students' social awareness, but also strives to encourage lifelong social action. Students spend a week volunteering with community agencies and experience social issues firsthand.

| The Campus Kitchen operates on Northwestern University's Evanston campus, and utilizes shared kitchen space, donated food, and the energy of students, faculty and community members. Volunteers prepare meals on campus then deliver them to agencies and individuals in the community.

| Northwestern University's Dance Marathon is one of the largest student-run philanthropies of its kind. From September through March, thousands of students are involved in volunteering, fundraising and educational activities. On the first weekend in March, these yearlong efforts culminate in a 30-hour dance party. |
