On the evening Monday, November 9 in Ryan Auditorium, CSI will sponsor a precursory event entitled “Northwestern Speaks: Activism for Positive Change” to emphasize the central theme and current relevancy of Howard Zinn’s books and film.
The “Northwestern Speaks” program will highlight student organizations, academic programs and university departments that encourage participation and involvement of Northwestern students in their communities to effort to achieve positive political, economic and social change.
- Engage students in involvement opportunities that encourage a sense of belonging in the community.
- Provide intentional support and advising to students and their organizations by developing the leadership potential in each.
- Provide educational and social programs and activities in areas of Leadership, Organizational Development, Campus Programming, Student Community Service, and Social Justice Issues, Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual and Transgender Concerns.
