Participate in one of NU’s Pre-New Student Week programs/Leadership Development Programs:
|
| |
- Attend the Activities Fair at Norris during the first week of school.
- Attend an open meeting for one of the many student groups on campus and sign up to be involved. Some groups might have open board positions or positions just for freshmen.
- Sign up for the Freshman Emerging Leaders Program or Freshman Class Council
- Sit in and listen to an ASG Senate meeting (7:00 p.m. Wednesday nights, Northwestern Room, Norris University Center)

- Attend Women in Leadership
- Check Recruitment for Fraternity/Sorority Life

- Many student groups have elections at the end of winter quarter. If there is a group you’ve been involved in
see if there will be an open position on the board.

- All of the student groups who didn’t
have elections at the end of the winter quarter will have elections
in the beginning of the Spring Quarter so be on the lookout.
- Attend a conference/lecture on campus
(Women in the Leadership/Diversity Conference/Medill Speaker Series,
that you find interesting.
- Participate in ULP

a student organization, serving as a 2nd year Senator on ASG, or
getting more involved in a fraternity/sorority or student organization.
You have a lot to share the with campus community.

to such programs) then help plan/coordinate one of these conferences/programs.
- If you’re a CA think about being
an RHC or SCA .

| The beginning of the end of your
undergraduate career at Northwestern. This is the year to leave
your mark. It’s important to continue to have a positive attitude
towards student leadership. This is a year for reflection, rewards,
and seeking out others to continue your hard work.

Be a counselor for one of NU’s Orientation/Leadership Building Programs

- Identify freshmen student leaders and take them under your wing and help them make thoughtful decisions.
- Look for awards to apply for based on leadership experiences.
- In addition to planning conferences and programs, serve as a resource at the events.
