Mission statement:
United Way of the North Shore, a member of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, engaes caring people thourghout our city to invest time and resources where they are needed most. United Way provides the leadership and resources it takes to make long-lasting change, so that people can become independent.

We serve the following communities: Evanston, Wilmete, Winnetka, Northfield, Glencoe, Kenilworth, Highwood, Highland Park, Fort Sheridan, Lake Forest, and Lake Bluff.

We are all connected in our community. When children succed, when families become stable, when individuals stay healthy, our community is stronger. That’s why United Way focuses on Income, Education and Health - the building block of independence. Our goal is to provide the leadership and resource it takes to make long-lasting change the advances the common good.
